Lyonell

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern the basis on which Lyonell ("we", "us", "our") offers its reading programmes and related services to participants. By submitting an enquiry, registering for a programme, or attending any Lyonell session, you agree to these terms.

1. Nature of Our Programmes

Lyonell offers reading-led educational programmes on household financial topics. All content is educational in scope and is presented for the purposes of vocabulary building, reading, and discussion only. Nothing presented or distributed in any Lyonell programme constitutes financial advice, legal advice, or any form of regulated service under Singapore law.

Participants should seek the counsel of qualified and licensed professionals — financial advisers, lawyers, estate planners, and others as appropriate — for guidance on their individual circumstances. Lyonell does not make recommendations on specific financial products, transactions, or strategies.

2. Enrolment and Fees

Participation in any Lyonell programme is subject to the availability of places and the payment of the applicable programme fee. Fees are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of all programme materials described in the programme outline.

Current programme fees are:

  • Pre-Retirement Reflection Reading Workshop — S$220 per participant
  • Estate Reading Series — S$870 per participant
  • Family Money Reading Circle — S$140 per participant

Fees are confirmed at the time of enrolment. Lyonell reserves the right to revise fees for future cohort seasons with reasonable advance notice.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you need to withdraw from a programme prior to its commencement, please notify us in writing at [email protected] as early as possible. The following conditions apply:

  • Withdrawals notified more than fourteen calendar days before the programme start date: full fee refund, less an administrative handling charge of S$30.
  • Withdrawals notified between seven and fourteen calendar days before the start date: 50% of the programme fee will be refunded.
  • Withdrawals notified fewer than seven calendar days before the start date, or after the programme has commenced: no refund will be issued.

If Lyonell cancels a programme or cohort (for example, due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances), all participants will receive a full refund of fees paid, or the option to transfer to a subsequent cohort at no additional cost.

4. Programme Materials

Reading materials distributed in connection with Lyonell programmes — including workbooks, binders, glossary cards, and conversation cards — are prepared for educational use within the programme only. These materials are the intellectual property of Lyonell and may not be reproduced, shared externally, or used for commercial purposes without our written permission.

5. Participant Conduct

Participants are expected to engage with the reading material and discussion in a respectful manner. Lyonell reserves the right to ask a participant to withdraw from a programme if their conduct is disruptive or inconsistent with the collaborative reading environment we maintain. In such cases, a partial refund may be considered at our discretion.

6. Programme Scheduling and Venue

Lyonell programmes are held at 3 Church Street, #14-04, Samsung Hub, Singapore 049483, unless otherwise communicated. We reserve the right to reschedule individual sessions due to unforeseen circumstances, with reasonable notice to all enrolled participants. Reasonable efforts will be made to find a suitable alternative date and time in consultation with the cohort.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Lyonell's liability to any participant is limited to the amount of the programme fee paid by that participant. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from participation in, or non-participation in, any Lyonell programme.

The educational content provided in our programmes is prepared with care and accuracy in mind, but Lyonell does not warrant that the content is free from error or that it reflects the most current regulatory position at any given time. Participants are encouraged to verify material with qualified professionals.

8. Personal Data

We handle participant personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued participation in Lyonell programmes following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
